AN eighteen-year-old Kidderminster woman was left shaken after being punched in the face by muggers who stole her handbag.
The attack happened at 11pm on Saturday as she was walking home from the railway station in Comberton Hill.
As she walked along Lorne Street, Offmore Road and then turned left into Chester Road, where she was assaulted, she was aware of two men following her because one was wearing trousers made of a fabric which made a loud 'crunching' noise.
She heard the men run up behind her as she reached the railway bridge in Chester Road, before she was grabbed by the shoulder and told to hand over the handbag.
Following a struggle when the men tried to snatch the bag, one of the offenders punched her in the face, which caused her to release the bag.
Both attackers are described as white, 6ft tall, of light build and in their early 20s, who were wearing pullover jackets and dark tracksuit trousers.
One of the men had short, straight, brown hair, the other had lighter coloured hair.
The handbag, described as a small rucksack with thin straps and the words 'Tendre Poisson' embroidered on the front in green, contained a mobile phone, house key and a purse containing a small amount of cash inside.
