STRATFORD College lecturer Ed Pinner's dream will come true when one of his musical heroes, legendary New York blues man Popa Chubby, plays at the college next Wednesday.
Ed, who is deputy head of the college's school for creative and cultural studies, is delighted that the singer has chosen Stratford to make the only Midlands appearance of his European tour.
Ed, who had previously only seen Popa performing on video, said: "I was desperate to see this man live."
As a result, when he heard that Popa was visiting the UK, he decided to invite the blues great to meet students who are studying for the National Diploma in Popular Music at the college.
"I was absolutely delighted when his booking agent for the UK suggested he could play at the college," he said.
Popa is due to perform at Stratford College at 8pm next Wednesday. Tickets cost £7 (£5 concessions) and can be bought through the college reception on 01789 266245.
