INDIVIDUALS and businesses have been urged to help raise the final £1,000 needed to build Stourport's new riverside bandstand.
Plans to allow folk to "buy a brick" to be used in building work were due to be finalised at yesterday's meeting of the Stourport Business Association.
The bricks will be engraved with customer's names and will be a lasting memento of the public's part in helping to complete the work, which is Stourport Rotary Club's millennium project, said business association chairman Russell Hinton.
Mr Hinton, who is also a rotary club member, said: "This is the final push to help reach the £20,000 target before the bandstand can open next spring at Riverside Meadows."
