MY wife and I went to Kidderminster Town Hall to attend the planning meeting for the proposed development of the college site and the quarry in Aggborough.
We were prevented from entering the gallery. An official told us that it was already full and that no-one else would be admitted.
This ensured that the vast majority of Aggborough residents could not scrutinise the actions of the planning committee.
This is unacceptable, especially as they had already been asked to hold the meeting in the Corn Exchange. It seemed rather convenient to restrict the number of people attending by holding it at a small venue.
This is despite the fact that a petition had been raised with over 400 signatures on it, opposing the development.
The way in which this matter has been dealt with is extremely disquieting.
As usual in cases like this, the good burghers who voted in favour of the development will not have to live with the consequences of their decision - they have left the residents of Aggborough to do that for them.
