WORCESTERSHIRE'S Steve Rhodes is in danger of missing only his second County Championship match through injury in 17 seasons.
He is due to have a fitness test later today on a calf problem to determine whether he will be able to play in the Championship game against Nottinghamshire which opens at New Road tomorrow.
Rhodes is regarded as having only a '50-50' chance of being fit in time with James Pipe on standby to keep his place behind the stumps, having claimed a record eight catches in yesterday's Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy triumph at Hertfordshire.
Paul Pollard, who has been troubled recently by a side strain, is not expected to face his former club.
Vikram Solanki and Matthew Rawnsley are also due to have fitness checks later today after missing the Hertfordshire game.
Solanki has groin trouble while Rawnsley has a foot infection.
The County's Director of Cricket Tom Moody is waiting until today's fitness tests have been completed before naming the squad.
Nick Boulton, Chris Liptrot, Kabir Ali and Pipe have all being pencilled in as possible replacements for injury victims.
