SAM Smith scored his second century of the summer and took 3-32 for Royal Grammar School, Worcester to win the Evening News/Duncan Fearnley Cricket Sales Ltd. Cricketer of the Week award.
The teenager struck an aggressive 133 off just 117 balls including 21 fours and one six to help RGS reach 290 for 6 against Solihull School at Flagge Meadow.
RGS's skipper came to the crease in the third over and shared a stand of 188 with James Watkins (85no) before being run out in the 41st over.
In reply Solihull were bowled out for 188 with Sam taking three wickets.
"This was his second century of the season and he is quite a belligerent batsmen who doesn't hang around," said RGS master, Barrie Rees.
"He was run out and I think he was probably exhausted.
"He was always a leg spinner up until this year but he has been promoted up the order to number three and scored runs."
Earlier in the season Sam and fellow RGS batsmen, Dave Taylor and Tom Jarvie all made centuries to help the school to a successful start to the summer.
Sam also plays club cricket for Old Elizabethans and has just finished taking his exams.
His feats on the cricket square have earned him top marks and £30 vouchers to spend at Duncan Fearnley Cricket Sales Ltd in Sherriff Street, Worcester.
