A FURIOUS driver has blasted brick-throwing yobs whose missiles came within inches of maiming his wife.
Max Keen, of Derwent Drive, Bewdley, fears someone will die if the missile throwing maniacs strike again.
He was driving along Kidderminster ring-road last Friday at about 9pm when his car roof was hit by a brick lobbed by thugs at the back of Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre some 50ft above the road.
He said: "I heard a colossal bang and thought we had been hit by another car.
"The brick hit the roof within inches of the windscreen. If it had gone through that I dread to think what could have happened - someone could have died."
Mr Keen said: "I know there was a roller disco at the Glades that night. Surely, security at the Glades should have been out checking what was going on around their building."
However, Wyre Forest District Council leisure chief Andrew Dickens said his staff had no jurisdiction over the area as it was a public footpath.
He said: "We have to consider the safety of our own staff. This really is a matter for the police.
"Because no-one has been apprehended for this incident we do not know if they had been in the Glades or not.
"It is a one-off but a very dangerous one. It is a sad reflection of society."
Police attended the scene and spoke to youths in the area.
Investigations are continuing to identify the offenders.
