DROPPED catches proved Pershore second team's downfall as their unbeaten run came to an end at Lye on Sat-urday.
Dave Wickersham and Liam Ridings gave the visitors a fine start adding 44 for the first wicket as the latter went on to compile an excellent 60.
Alan Davies (40) and a career best 70, including three 6s, from Steve Meers offered splendid support but the loss of frequent wickets in the search for quick runs saw Pershore finish on 241-8 after reaching 203-4.
On a small ground with a swift outfield, the total was always going to be difficult to defend although the hosts were soon in trouble having lost two batsmen with the target reduced by just 36.
However, mistakes in the field by the young Pershore side let Lye off the hook and, together with some indifferent bowling, the home side took control.
The target was passed with six overs and the same number of wickets to spare leaving the losers to reflect on their worst day in the field this summer.
