THIS nonsense that no one knows who is responsible for the brook that runs through Brook Road recreation ground beggars belief.

Bromsgrove District Council knows full well that it is responsible; they even paid thousands of pounds for a consultant to advise them as to what to do to alleviate the flooding of the brook that has wrecked so many homes.

Of course the council refused to take on board the consultant's advice to stop the flooding and took a conscious decision not to carry out any maintenance of the brook and ignore the consequences of such an irresponsible decision.

The branches that have found their way into the brook were actual cuttings left by the council after they had trimmed some of the boundary hedges.

Contempt for the people of Rubery by Bromsgrove council is abundantly clear to everyone. The consequences of not cleaning the brook out will mean houses will again be flooded out. Furthermore, the tens of thousands of pounds being spent by the county council to improve the flow of water into the culvert will be wasted, if the district council fails to do its bit in cleaning out its own brook.

Bromsgrove District actions are those of a charlatan. How else do you describe a council that stands by under a cloud of untruths and watches good hard-working people have their homes destroyed.
