I WOULD like to congratulate the Advertiser for its coverage of the recent General and County Council elections.
The issues raised by the parties were reflected in a fair and unbiased manner.
Unfortunately the County Council has once again failed to give a single party overall control. It is to be hoped that this situation will not result in a further reduction or devaluation of services.
The Rubery area has been sadly neglected over the years and the people who live there will be looking closely to their re-elected representative, Cllr Peter McDonald, now he is no longer preoccupied with aspirations to be at Westminster, to take a more proactive role in local affairs than he has in the last 11 years.
John Ashman,
Conservative Candidate for Rubery in the County Council Elections 2001,
Beacon Hill,
Rubery.
