HOURS after release from prison for previous assaults, Dennis Gubbins left his long-time girlfriend with a smashed nose and fractured cheekbone.
Gubbins, aged 41, of Farrington Place, Norton, pleaded guilty at Droitwich court on Monday to assaults on Jacqueline Harrison causing her actual bodily harm and grievous bodily harm and was remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court for sentence on July 20.
Doreece Gunter, prosecuting, said Miss Harrison did not want Gubbins prosecuted, but said it was "not in the public interest to have men assaulting women in this way."
She added: "Police say he showed little or no remorse over the incident on June 8, saying she got what she deserved."
Iain Willis, for Gubbins, said the assault was the result of him seeing her getting off a bus with another man.
"They've spent some time today embracing through the glass partition of the dock. It's clear they're in a relationship that isn't going to come to an end," Mr Willis said.
