EVESHAM Wheelers promoted the annual inter-club challenge against Cheltenham & County last Wednes-day evening.
The 25-mile Time Trial took place on the Chel-tenham Road to Todd-ington course and was supported well by both clubs.
The accumulative winners were Cheltenham with a total time of six hours nine minutes and five seconds beating Evesham by nine minutes and 24 seconds.
However, Evesham's veteran class riders Brian Newton, Brian Lee and Rudi Ligthert won the Veteran Stan-dard event by 2.06.
Top Evesham times were Ian Likeman (Sen) 60.04; Newton (V) 60.22; Andy Bolton (Sen) 62.21; Ligthert (V) 63.11; Martin Hall (Sen) 66.08 and Phil Pollard (V) 66.23.
The fastest team of three Veterans on standard times were New-ton, Lee and Ligthert.
Last Sunday Ken Haynes rode the White Webbs CC 25 TT on a fast A1 course at Tempsford.
With a niggling cross breeze, he clocked a commendable 57.35 .
Sunday morning's club run was well supported again with over 20 riders, in two groups, heading for Shrawley near Stourport.
The faster run, led by Tom Brazier, took a 35- mile route to the coffee stop alongside the River Severn while the second B run took a more leisurely pace through the local lanes for 28 miles.
This Sunday's run is to Cleeve Hill, meet in the High Street at 9am.
