THE recent Callow End School Fete was a great success in spite of the damp weather.
Among the star attractions were a bouncy castle and go-karts, plus all the traditional stalls and games and bargains for sale. One of the most popular was the French ice cream stall manned by children of the School's French Club. Dressed colourfully in the red, white and blue of the French flag "the Tricolour" the children spoke French as they served ice cream.
Over £600 was raised on the day but because of the weather the balloon race was postponed and took place after school on Friday, June 22 when the balloons were released in bright sunshine.

The choir, celebrating 20 years since its foundation, was conducted by its musical director, Brian Hodgettts, and was accompanied on piano keyboard by Philip Holland.
