THE prizewinners at the Village Hall Fortnightly Whist Drive were:- Norah Armstrong, Claire Skirten, Joyce Rusling, Ann Pullen, Margery Halling, Hilda Archer, Joan Palmer, Gary Quiney, Ron Baxter, Eryl Williams, Patrick McCarthy, Michael Quiney, Rena Harley and Philip Warner.

Next Whist Drive is on Wednesday (July 4) at 8pm.

The Race Evening organised by Forthampton Village Hall Committee in aid of Village Hall funds was a great success.

This event was held in the Pavilion at the Lower Lode Hotel on Saturday, June 23, and approximately 60 people attended this event in pleasant surroundings on a lovely summer evening by the banks of the River Severn.

Everyone appeared to enjoy themselves and joined in with much enthusiasm shouting on their horses to the winning post.

The raffle prize winners at the race evening were Heather Robinson, George Skipton, Ashleigh Hancock, Edward Hart-land, Jackie Guilding, Gerry Harwood, Mrs Mabel Bradley, Richard Robinson, Edward Bloxham, Jean Morgan, Ray Davies.

The village hall Committee would like to thank the sponsors of the eight races, those who bought horses or gave raffle prizes. The committee much appreciated the help given by others to make the evening a success. A special thank you goes to Gerry Harwood, landlord of the Lower Lode Hotel for providing the venue for this event.
