LAST week was a busy one for pupils of Powick Primary School. On Monday, two new classrooms were officially opened by the Ven Rev Dr Joy Tetley, the Archdeacon of Worcester Cathedral. The number of children attending the Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) Primary School has risen over recent years with the new development on the old hospital site; numbers now total 187 on the roll.

Last Thursday, the school sports day was held on a bright summer's day and was enjoyed by children and parents alike.

This year's Annual Powick Playing Field Fete will be held on Saturday, July 21 at 2pm. There will be a car boot sale, a gymnastics display, and Malvern Young Fire Fighters' presentation and children's sports. A wealth of attractions includes a bar, bottle tombola, books, toys, bric-a-brac, teas and ice creams, plus many more games. Any donations for raffle and stalls would be welcome. Please contact Jo Potter on 01905 830046, Jim Allsopp on 01905 830746 or any committee member. Offers of help on the day would be welcome.
