VISITORS to the jazz festival were offered spiritual and corporal refreshment at a flower festival in the town's Baptist Church.
While the church was fragrant with flowers depicting journeys from the Old and New Testaments, the church hall offered freshly prepared sandwiches, ploughman's lunches and homemade cakes.
New for the festival this year was a Sunday night concert in the church garden, with jazz musicians led by John Frith helping illustrate the story of the Prodigal Son.
It was mimed by young church members and narrated by the Rev Ian Sim.
The weekend raised more than £1,000 towards funds for a new two-storey building behind the schoolroom.
"The building fund now stands at over £100,000 and we are in a position to apply for grants and loans," said Mr Sim.
"We are hoping to start building this year."
