NEWLAND'S Sunday XI's winning run came to an abrupt end when they travelled to a new fixture at Swindon.
SWINDON v NEWLAND SUNDAY XI
Batting first on an excellent wicket Newland's batsmen failed to capitalise and although led by C Genever (84) supported by R Leech (30) and R Genever (29) it was agreed that the final score of 176-4 was 50 runs short of target.
Swindon's openers R Wassell (101no) and M Grimmet (47no) reached the total in 33.3 overs being particularly severe on some loose bowling from Newland on a day when with the exception of R Leech they did not find the penetration of previous matches.
