BARNARDS GREEN III V OMBERSLEY III
Lee Dyment took the anchor role with a solid 21, but three quick wickets saw the Green struggling at 66-4. Skipper Robin Longmore (38) then joined 16 year old Mat Brookes and between them they took the score to 143 before Longmore was caught at extra cover.
With Luke Marshall falling first ball to give Greig his fifth wicket, it was left to Kieran Deegan (18) and Brookes who scored an excellent 78no, thus completing his maiden half century in senior cricket, to take the final score to 221.
In reply, Ombersley got off to a disastrous start losing three quick wickets to the pace of Henry Gregory. Youngsters Oakley and D'Oliveira then batted positively before Duncan Bell deservedly picked up the wicket of Oakley during his excellent opening spell. When D'Oliveira was bowled by Brookes for 48, only skipper Parrot (23) showed any further resistance before he was well bowled by the leg spin of Marc Jones.
Luke Marshall then cleaned up the tail taking the final three wickets including a smart stumping by Tim Price who rounded off an excellent display behind the stumps. Special mention to young Sam Spencer playing his first game of senior cricket who fielded solidly throughout.
The Green take 24 points and remain top of the league.
