AFTER completing their first season in the Gloucestershire County Women's football League, Malvern Ladies FC held a presentation night at the RSRE Club.
Presenting the trophies was Pete Cartridge of First Floor Flooring, who sponsored the club for the season.
Emily Prosser won the Better Future Player of the Season award, which was donated by Charles Hitchings of Better Future Racing. Goalkeeper Liz Prosser won the Most Improved Player award and certificates were awarded to the rest of the squad.
There were also trophies for the junior members (under 14's.).
Malvern's season started on September 10, 2000 with a fine 2-1 win against RAF Lyneham and finished on May 6, 2001 when they lost 3-1 to league champions Cheltenham Saracens.
During the season Malvern played 20 matches, winning seven, drawing two and losing 11, of the 11 matches Malvern lost, five were by just one goal.
Next season Malvern Ladies will again by playing in the Gloucestershire County Women's League Division One.
Training takes place at the Chase School, Malvern on Monday evenings, starting again on July 2. Juniors (under 14's) start at 6.30pm and finish at 8pm, seniors train from 7.30pm and finish at 9pm.
