MALVERN Parish School recently held a five-a-side football tournament for parents of the school to help raise money for a classroom.
In a closely contested final "Paddocks Night Mares" triumphed 1-0 against "Who let the Reds Out" with the beaten semi-finalists consisting of "Year 6 Boys" and "Oh ah Cant an R". The predominantly ladies team "Clive's Tasty Babes" were awarded the best turned out team award.
On the day, £360 was raised, which included a barbecue, penalty shoot-out won by Jonathan Fane and tyre shooting, which was won by Hannah Gleaves.
The event itself was conducted with a mixture of humour and competitiveness with some very dubious refereeing decisions and professional fouls adding to the interest of the event which was sponsored by Severn Trent Water and Severn Trent Energy.
