EXPLOSIVES found in a Worcester home are today being examined to discover exactly what they are.
The city's police and bomb disposal experts were called to two homes on the Tolladine estate on Thursday, June 28, after a call to the emergency services.
Two men were arrested - one has since been released on police bail and the other has been formally cautioned.
The call to police on Thursday afternoon sparked a five-hour bomb scare.
Holly Mount Road, Tolladine, was sealed off for two hours between the junctions at Tolladine Road and Birch Avenue.
The bomb squad then moved into a Teme Road house and the road was sealed off at Avon Road and Dee Way.
A number of suspicious items, which included bomb-making devices, were recovered in the operation.
"We're still examining the items to find out exactly what they are," said a Worcester police spokeswoman.
