MALVERN-based artist Catherine Moody is enjoying a revival in fortune following renewed interest in her pictures of Worcester from London galleries.
Recently, The Mall Gallery invited Mrs Moody to exhibit a pastel entitled Evensong in Worcester Cathedral, and two other works entitled The Young Oboeist and Young Readers in an Ancient Library.
Mrs Moody, who has enjoyed a long career as a pastellist and oil painter, followed her father, the artist Victor Hume-Moody, to become head of the Malvern School of Art from 1962.
Now Mrs Moody says she is thrilled to be showing in London again, especially as she is flying the flag for the county.
"I feel re-enlivened. It's lovely to have had pictures accepted and to be invited to exhibit at The Mall Gallery," she said.
"I did the Evensong piece back in the 50s or 60s in Dean Milburn's time. I remember the scene, it was very pictorial.
"I also based Young Readers in an Ancient Library on my memories of Worcester Library.
"I've been living in the area since 1935 and I've got a lifetime's memories of people and interiors."
The exhibition at The Mall Gallery is sponsored by The House of Commons' magazine The House to raise money for cancer charity The Haven.
Thirty artists have been invited to exhibit.
The exhibition runs from Saturday, July 11.
