COUNTY golfers and cricketers are hoping their charity auction will be a knockout with a signed pair of Frank Bruno's boxing gloves.
Friday, July 13, will prove lucky for some when the pair of prized gloves goes under the hammer alongside other celebrity items at Sapey Golf Club, at Upper Sapey, near Tenbury Wells.
Sports fans will also be able bid for golf bags signed by celebrities such as Ian Botham, Jasper Carrott and Sir Henry Cooper.
Bruce Eddy, Sapey cricket club captain, has teamed up with Sapey golf club captain Phil Hodgson to organise the auction and a golf day for the Children with Leukemia charity.
The public auction is being held at 10.30am and bids can be entered for items to go under the hammer in the evening.
"It promises to be a stunning day," said Mr Eddy.
"We hope to raise over £5,000 for the charity. It will be a big day for children with leukaemia.
"None of this would be possible without the help of Jim and Ann Preece who have made the course available for the day."
Raffle tickets and auction information can be obtained from Sapey Golf Club or The Pasty Shop, at St Swithins Street, Worcester.
Mr Eddy can be contacted on 01886 853498.
