STEVE Jones has decided not to join Kidderminster Harriers after all.
The 30-year-old defender had verbally agreed a two-year deal with Jan Molby and was due at Aggborough yesterday to officially sign on the dotted line.
Instead, the former Swansea City campaigner telephoned the Harriers boss and said he had decided to go elsewhere.
Molby said: "It's very disappointing. Sometime between agreeing to sign for us on Friday and yesterday he has had a 'better' offer and has decided not to come here.
"He didn't really give me a reason though he didn't deny he had another club lined up. That's football, unfortunately."
Bristol-born Jones used to be with Cheltenham where he is rumoured to be returning.
Meanwhile, Molby is hoping he has more luck with another close season target. He is "hopeful" midfielder Sam Shilton would be joining the club following his release by Hartlepool United.
