A FREE smoke detector is on offer to the first 70 families taking part in a home safety event in Kidderminster on Saturday.
The Horsefair and Broadwaters Community Neighbourhood Partnership has organised the event which will allow families to devise an escape route from their homes in the event of fire and learn first aid, crime prevention, and how to avoid slips in the home.
It is being held at the Horsefair Community Centre in Broad Street from 10am to 3pm, with activities run by Wyre Forest District Council, the Fire Brigade, British Red Cross and Worcestershire Health Authority.
More information is available by calling assistant project officer Jenni Lord on 01562 732799.
