A LETTER in your June 20 issue from K Miller provokes me to write.
He appears to be intelligent yet asks why Studley residents overwhelmingly prefer the western duel carriageway bypass scheme. Quite simply they realise that it is the best solution.
Without repeating all of the factors involved we need a dual carriageway to link the Alcester bypass and Gorcott Hill, both dual carriageways, and the western route will also enable traffic to feed into the existing Redditch system of dual carriageways from the south.
At the end of a recent crowded meeting which overwhelmingly backed option 2, a gentleman from Sambourne, whom I did not know, turned and said to those behind him: "We do not want your bypass and we will do all we can to stop it." How sad this attitude is, so negative and now owning a joint responsibility for the best solution.
Come on Mr Miller and others of this small minority, you doubtless have personal concerns but you will be just as welcome to use the new bypass as everyone else, after all it will be our bypass.
