Kidderminster's Grant Burgess swept to his second successive win as England sank the Channel Islands 133-90 in Belfast last night in the Home International Bowls series.
Hereford's 2000 World indoor singles champion Robert Weale is also involved in a title showdown today when he clashes with Irish champion Ian Ross in the British Isles Singles final.
Burgess, from the Gilt Edge club, lined up as number three to Torquay's Danny Denison against David Le Marquand in the clash with the Channel Islands.
Trailing 3-0 early on, Burgess and company scored on five of the next six ends to race ahead 11-4.
Le Marquand slashed the gap to 13-12, but Burgess and Denison stayed cool, slotting in a treble and double on the run-in to win 18-14.
England were successful on all six rinks, collecting all of the 22 points at stake. They lead Ireland 38-37 going into today's clash, the winner of which will take the title.
