LUKE Davis made a debut 50 for Hewell in their Worcestershire Six clash at fellow title hopefuls Chain-Wire.
The batsman's knock of 56 helped Hewell to a total of 176-5 but this was too little to threaten the home side who clinched the points for a winning draw after amassing 290-9.
Alan Davis returned figures of 6-99 and skipper Mark Alcock hopes his players can put a stop to the runs when they travel to basement club Cleobury on Saturday.
Alcock said: "It will be far from easy because we have a few people away. We also need the bowlers to bowl a lot better."
Among those missing for the Cleobury trip are opener Ian Williams and batsman Alan Brownley.
