I AM becoming more and more frustrated with people's "I'm a victim attitude". We are fast becoming in danger of becoming an American suburb where we sue each other for mental distress from a dirty look.
I feel very sorry for Donna Hawker. I realise that it must be a very worrying time but what is the point of suing the council? They didn't discard the needle.
If the fence was such a worry why didn't they fix it themselves? Nobody repairs my home for me - if I can't afford repairs myself they don't get done, and I have to live with the consequences.
I also have all sorts of rubbish chucked on to my garden and I just have to be careful when clearing it up.
Basically, we all have to remember that bad things happen to many people and there is always someone worse off.
Suing the council for a damaged garden fence is pointless and will only mean it has less money to spend on other people's repairs.
I trust that this letter does not cause too much mental anguish - if so call a solicitor, I'm sure they can make a case.
M McFADDEN,
Worcester.
