POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a road rage incident in Redditch on Friday.
The incident happened at about 11.07am on the Studley Road near the Woodrow Pub in Woodrow and involved two vehicles.
Police said a male driver from one car attempted to pull another man from a second car after they were both involved in a minor accident.
Sgt Terry Shutt, of Redditch police, said the offender attempted to pull the man through the window and then tried to pull the keys from the car.
He said: "The driver of the one vehicle made off. A suspect has been identified but we are appealing for witnesses."
"We are taking this incident very seriously. Incidents like this are very distressing for people involved and to those people who are unfortunate to have to witness it," Sgt Shutt said.
"In the past, incidents have led to custodial sentences for offenders as courts take a very dim view of this sort of violent act," he added.
The cars involved in the accident were a green Peugeot estate and a white BMW.
Police are treating the incident as a public order offence.
Anyone with information can contact Redditch police on 584888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
