THE June meeting was presided over by Ann Thurrell as president Sylvia Cartwright was attending a play rehearsal for Worcester's entry in the national competition.
Speaker for the evening was to have beem a representative from the Animal Welfare charity, however, due to MAFF regulations he had to cancel at short notice.
The evening became a more social affair with much discussion about forthcoming outings and fund-raising activities.
Also on display for the evening were entries that Barbara Parsons, Eve Bloomer and Betty Bushell had entered for the craft exhibition at Perdiswell. Congratulations were given to all three for their successes.
A report was given on the bakery demonstration held at Chipping Campden. Seven members had attended the afternoon session, preceded by a lunch at Ebrington WI.
The luncheon club will not meet in July and August.
To round off the evening, Ann had devised a topical quiz for election day entitled Guess the Politician.
The last meeting before the summer break will be on July 5 when Mr Nicholls will talk about the Air Ambulance Service.
