FORTY-SEVEN elderly residents from Bidford, Alcester and Studley were collected from their homes and transported by coach to Blackpool for a week's holiday.
This is an annual event and open to all elderly residents who have only to contact any Rotarian should they wish to go.
At the Street Market on Sunday, June 17, the club had a bric-a-brac stall and raised more than £250 for various charities related to the town.
On June 18, a special invitation was sent out to more than 40 guests to join members for wine and refreshments at The Swan Hotel and to hear a little about the Rotary Movement and its involvement internationally.
The programme for eradication of polio, the provision of clean drinking water for Third World countries and eye camps to perform operations in India were just a few of the projects outlined.
The Assistant Governor of Rotary District 1060, David Bowyer, gave an excellent illustration of the work within Rotary.
The vocational committee arranged a visit to the Malvern Theatres on June 16 to see 'Theft' starring Roy Hudd and Leslie Grantham. A further trip to the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye is arranged for July 2.
