BROMSGROVE Cricket Club's opening batsman Nick Davies is relishing the prospect of playing Worcestershire after hitting the winning runs in Herefordshire's giant-killing Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy triumph over Middlesex.
The 27-year-old scored 39 off 27 deliveries to seal a breathtaking three-wicket win off the penultimate ball in last Wednesday's third round tie at Luctonians CC.
It was only the 11th time a lower-graded club has beaten first-class opponents in limited overs cricket.
Davies is now hoping to impress for Minor Counties minnows Herefordshire when they travel to New Road on Wednesday July 11.
He said: "I can't wait! It will rate up there with some of the biggest matches I've played in.
"We're actually quite confident that we can beat them.
"Most of our squad have had experience with Worcestershire so we know what we're up against. And of course, it would be nice if we can get Graeme Hick out early!"
