RUBERY is set to be awash with runners this Sunday when the village plays host to the annual half marathon.
The challenging two-lap course -- mainly road with a small section of trail -- goes over the Lickey Hills, including the scenic countryside of north Worcestershire.
It starts at 10am prompt at Rubery Leisure Centre, Holywell Lane, although entries will be taken on the day until 9am. There will also be a fun run starting at 10.15am which is open to everyone.
John Ordish, from Rubery Leisure Centre, said: "We're hoping the weather will be good and the Rubery community and the surrounding area come out and support the day."
The half marathon presentation will be at 1pm while at 1.30pm there is a majorettes display.
Other activities on the day include a bouncy castle, music, craft stalls, escorted walks along Broadmoor woods, a photographic display of Rubery over the last 100 years, tennis and football skills for children.
If anyone is interested in helping out as a race marshal on the day, contact Rubery Leisure Centre on 0121 453 7716.
