NOT everybody wakes up as plain old Mister and goes to bed a Sir.
But that was the case for one 22-year-old Redditch man after his proud mum bought him a knightship as a graduation present.
Teresa Wood successfully outbid others at Arrow Auctions in Washford last week to clinch one of five ancient titles going under the hammer for her son Aaron.
Aaron has just completed a four-year law degree at Birmingham University, where he will graduate on July 18.
The knightships are not knighthoods but do allow the holder to legally bear the title of Sir or Dame.
After the auction was featured in the Redditch Advertiser two weeks ago, scores of people turned up to bid for the titles, which went for between £500 and £600.
Mrs Wood, of Astley Close, Woodrow, said: "I wanted to celebrate my son's graduation and get him something unusual. Obviously, I'm very proud of him and thought this would be nice."
Arrow Auctions manager Andrew Reeves said: "I think it was a really nice Mrs Wood bought a title for her son. She must be very proud."
The antique auction also saw former Olympic swimming medallist Sharon Davies turn up.
