A MAN grabbed a 21-year-old woman on her way home from work in Catshill and allegedly attempted to force her into his car.
The woman, walking along Woodrow Lane, first became suspicious when a dark coloured Ford Mondeo drove past her twice.
The car then stopped alongside her and the driver asked the woman if she wanted a lift.
STRUGGLE
She refused but the man got out of the car and grabbed hold of her clothes, attempting to pull her into the vehicle.
Then a struggle took place and fortunately the woman's mobile phone rang at this point.
It appears that the man was scared off by it, as he released her, got back into his car, and drove off towards Lydiate Ash traffic island.
The man is described as Asian, clean-shaven, about 6ft 2in tall, and of medium build.
He was said to be wearing a white baseball cap and a dark coloured pullover.
Although the woman was not physically harmed by the man, she has suffered severe shock at the incident.
PC Chris Sewell said: "The road is relatively quiet, although it may be possible that someone saw this vehicle driving off."
INFORMATION
The incident happened in the early hours of last Friday morning close to the junction with Cobnall Road.
If anyone witnessed the incident, or if anyone has any information they are asked to contact PC Sewell on (01527) 584888 (ext 3240), or contact your nearest police station.
