PUNTERS at a Stourport pub which reached a landmark fund-raising figure earlier this year are getting into step for their latest charity mission.
Regulars at the Kings Arms, Areley Kings, are preparing for the annual pub fun run which takes place on Sunday, as they look to build on the £50,000 they have already raised over 12 years for the Cancer Research Campaign. Kings Arms regulars get into gear for the fun run timed by landlord Brian Whetton.
Landlord Brian Whetton, who lost his brother to a brain tumour 15 years ago and also lost his father to cancer, is relishing the four-and-a-half mile run which begins from the pub at 10.30am.
He said: "We are hoping for between 100 and 150 people to take part, and walkers and cyclists are also welcome as well as runners.
"We are looking for a good start in the next stage of our fund-raising efforts after reaching the £50,000 mark in May."
During the day there will also be target bowls games on the pub's bowling green, a tombola and barbecue.
Anyone who would like to take part can contact Mr Whetton for a sponsorship form by calling 01299 827132.
