BROADWAY Golf Club's in-form Shaun Thornhill, who has won his last two competitions, had a hole-in-one in an away day at Woburn Golf Club on a notoriously difficult 207 yard par three.
In the second round of the Centenary Trophy Thornhill shot gross 71 to win by three shots on an overall nett total of 135 from Steve Griffin who had a fine 70 for overall net 138.
In third place was Andy Basford with a nett 140.
In the latest monthly medal Thornhill won the Division One section with a 70 for a nett 66 narrowly beating Mike Humpston who also had a gross 70.
Brian Marcroft was third with a 69 just beating Terry Sandalls on a countback.
Shot of the day went to Fred Powers who holed in one at the fifth with a magnificently struck four iron.
In Division Two Peter Stedman took the honours with a gross 87, beating Ian Moreton on countback.

In a mixed match against Minchinhampton (away) Broadway triumphed by 6 points to 5 with the vital point being secured by final pairing Don and Betty Palmer.
