A TOWN group has ensured Stourport is well and truly on the map after completing a brochure to attract visitors to the area.
The guide has been produced by Stourport Town Centre Management Forum and 20,000 copies are hitting the streets.
The free booklet contains information about hotels, places of interest, restaurants and sporting and leisure activities.
It also features annual events including the raft race, regatta, carnival, church activities and Christmas lights switch-on, as well as detailing neighbouring attractions including Bodenham Arboretum, Hartlebury Castle, Severn Valley Railway and Witley Court.
The brochures, which cost about £2,700 to produce with funding from Wyre Forest District Council and district groups, are now available in libraries and tourist information centres.
Forum chairman Derek Fradgley said a competition had been held to find the best photograph to feature in the centre pages. The winning shot was scooped by Stourport Carnival publicity officer and Stourport Rotary Club president-elect Pete Roberts.
Mr Fradgley said: "The brochure has had a super response in the town and it's just a case of spreading the word now.
"We have tried to ensure the vital need-to-know facts about Stourport are contained within it."
