EVESHAM are one of only three clubs in the entire Worcestershire League yet to record a win this season.
However, the Division Two outfit came perilously close to wiping away the ignominy of that winless sequence at Brockhampton last Saturday.
Evesham's batting has at last lost that brittle look and splendid contributions down the order saw the visitors rattle up a terrific 279-7 from their 50 overs.
Jon Gregory, Barry Clements, Ian Prince, Will Bailey and Richard Layton all topped 30 with Paul Jones showing his all-round ability with a hard-hitting 58.
The absence of a quartet of regulars again weakened the side but they stuck at it well after Parker had threatened to mount a victory charge with an innings of 89.
Gregory's catch in the deep ended the opener's resistance but last man Langford held out as Jones ripped through the tail as Evesham sought the extra eight points a win would have given them.
A much-changed side visited Barnards Green the next day when the hosts proved too strong in the Sunday League encounter.
Cadwallader and Horn gave Evesham the best of starts but only Langstone was able to profit and a target of 186 was easy prey for the hosts.
James Cutler top scored with a quickfire 80 off just 60 deliveries as the seconds settled for a losing league draw at home to Brockhampton on Saturday.
Spinners Lloyd and Jackson had earlier restricted the visitors who had got off to a flying start that allowed them to reach 244-5.
Evesham were never in danger of losing as the top five batsmen all contributed well but only Cutler managed to cut loose in a creditable reply.
