THE calendar will be turned back 100 years to help Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre celebrate its centenary in offbeat fashion tomorrow (Friday).
The theatre will be transformed to recreate the way it was in 1901 - when it was known as the Lyceum. At 12noon, the winners of a 1900s family competition will arrive - in period costume - in a vintage vehicle to declare the theatre open while a brass band plays.
Entertainment lined up for the day includes costumed performers and a historical archive will be displayed.
