THE form player of the moment at Broad-way is Shaun Thorn-hill.
He has won the last two competitions and on an away day at Woburn holed in one on a notoriously difficult 207-yard par three before turning to his opponent to advise that he needed to hole his shot for a half!
In the second round of the Centenary Trophy, Thornhill shot a gross 71 to win by three shots on an overall net total of 135 from Steve Griffin (138). Andy Basford (140) was third.
In the latest monthly medal, Thornhill won the Division One section with a gross 70 (net 66), narrowly beating Mike Humpston on countback. Barrie Marcroft was third spot (69), ahead of Terry Sandalls, again on countback.
The shot of the day belonged to Fred Powers who holed in one at the fifth - a magnificently struck 4 iron to a tricky pin position.
Other scores - Division Two: 1 Peter Stedman 87-18-69 (cb) ; 2 Ian Moreton; 3 Jonathon Lyon-Smith; 4 Tony Knight.
In the Midsummer Madness event, Team Chrome Dome, led by Derek Butler, took the glory just beating the much fancied combination put together by captain Brian Wright.
In a mixed match at Minchinhampton, Broadway triumphed 6-5 with the vital point being secured by final pairing Don and Betty Palmer.
