A SOPRANO with the D'Oyley Carte opera company is planning a return to her home village - and the church where she was married - for a summer concert.
Kiera Lyness will be linking up once again with the Kidderminster-based Valentines Choir for a "summer concert of light and classical music" at St John's Church in Wolverley this month.
They previously performed together in a successful concert at Kidderminster Town Hall in April with the Blaenavon Male Voice Choir.
Kiera, who originally hails from Wolverley and was married in the church, will be returning on Saturday, July 14 amid a hectic round of high-profile engagements.
She is an extra with the BBC Singers and the Royal Opera House Chorus, having studied in Holland and travelled extensively and played violin with the Holywell Ensemble.
Recent performances have included a concert with the BBC Singers in the newly-refurbished Leeds Town Hall and a solo performance of modern music in Oxford.
Friends of Wolverley Church concert secretary David Alexander said: "On the day following her performance in Wolverley she has another major singing engagement in Oxford."
