THE recycling message is being drummed home to youngsters in the latest project at a Kidderminster nursery.
Children at the Deerhurst Day Nursery were paid a visit by Beth Williams from Wyre Forest District Council's green desk. Nursery assistant Julia Mills spreads the
recycling message to Evan Jones.
Nursery assistant Julia Mills said: "They have been taught about the recycling of plastic, paper, clothes and parts from cars.
"It's really important the kids appreciate that recycling is the future. We are trying to do our bit here and want the children to go away and tell their friends and family how they too can help."
She added: "Mrs Williams was able to tell the children lots of facts while they did their activities, and we were all staggered to hear Worcestershire has only a three to four per cent recycling rate of all possible items.
"Provision for plastic recycling is particularly bad in the county, and the newly refurbished Bonemill waste site in Stourport does not cater for it either."
