DELEGATES at a seminar have heard how families can receive support following a bereavement of a close family member.
The Noah's Ark Trust held a seminar at Ronkswood Hospital to provide people with an insight into the work of the trust.
More than 100 delegates also found out what is required in the way of bereavement support for those who come into contact with such families during the course of their working lives.
The Trust has been set up to offer a grief support programme to children and young people in Worcestershire who have experienced the loss of a close member of their family. This could be their father, mother, brother or sister and will often have been unexpected.
Professionals and volunteers visit bereaved families, who can then take part in a residential family weekend at the Malvern Hills Outdoor Centre.
Here families are able to share experiences and make friends with others in a similar situation.
The seminar, The Impact of a Death on Children, Families and the Community, took place at The Charles Hastings Postgraduate Medical Centre.
The trust now hopes to hold further training modules to help people in the Worcester area.
