THE Horticultural Society recently held a Garden Walk around the village.
Fifty members and friends attended and visited gardens at Mr & Mrs Jacob, Mr & Mrs Cooke, Mr & Mrs Garnett, Mr & Mrs Rose. The evening ended at Mrs Val Borne who gave a 'Ploughman's Supper' (in the rain) but there was plenty of cover and everyone agreed that it had been a wonderful evening.
Thanks are given to all those who 'opened' their gardens and helped in many ways to make the event a success.
The next event will be on Sunday (July 8) when it will be a visit to Hampton Court Gardens, nr Dinemore.
Everyone is asked to make their own way to the gardens and meet in the car park at 2.15pm.
There is going to be a Garden Party in the village, hosted by Mr & Mrs Evans at The View, Ochre Hill on Saturday, July 14 from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
This event is in support of the new Village Hall and tickets cost £6 each available from Carolyn (telephone 01531 632644) or from any member of the committee.
