ALL five Worcester Nomads sides struggled against various opposition over the weekend but nevertheless some useful performances were made.
Unfortunately the three Saturday teams all lost ground in their various leagues and the arrival of some of the younger members fresh from examinations is eagerly awaited.
Malcolm Jones with 53 against league leaders, Kington and 45 the next day against Wellesbourne and Paddy Clear 45 v Kington 2nd X1 led the batting, while the only bowling of note came from Ian Jinks (3 for 68) and Andy Prickett (6 for 72) both against Kington; Andy Brown (3 for 35 v Kington 2nd X1) and Gary Sandbrook (3 for 46 v Wellesbourne 2nd X1).
The current league leaders, Kington, have a unique style of play and will clearly be in the Birmingham League next season if they continue in their present line.
The junior section continued winning most of their fixtures with victories by the under 10's against Colwall; the under 11's against Stourport on Severn; the under 12's against Worcester and the under 13's against Old Swinford St. Mary's.
One of the U12's, Tom Isaacs achieved fame when he was selected for the Sunday Senior 2nd XI and celebrated by taking a wicket with his medium pace bowling and also a swirling catch at point.
