HISTORIC Eastnor Castle will host two nights of the very best music later this month with Summer Nights, Summer Fun.
The grounds of the Georgian castle will ring to the sounds of the sixties, the seventies, jazz and big band music over two nights, Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21. The event includes the chance for open-air picnics and fireworks.
It kicks off on the Friday with one of Britain's best-known and loved jazz artists Kenny Ball, appearing with his Jazzmen on a double bill with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra.
Kenny's career has stretched over 40 years and has notched up 14 Top 30 hits. He continues to tour extensively, performing more than 200 dates a year.
The Syd Lawrence Orchestra was formed in the late Sixties and has an unrivalled repertoire of Big Band classical arrangements. Its current members can claim more than 600 years' playing experience between them and are under the directorship and leadership of Chris Dean.
Saturday's line-up features tributes to two of the biggest names in modern music.
The Bootleg Beatles acclaimed re-creation of the Fab Four has seen them headline at top festivals like Glastonbury and the Fleadh and line up alongside Oasis at a series of concerts in 1996.
Joining them are The Magic of Abba, with all the sounds of the Swedish supergroup and appearances on BBC television, at Wembley Stadium and the London opening of the hit musical Mamma Mia to their credit.
Tickets for the Festival of Jazz are £15 in advance or £17 on the day, under-16s £8. For Classic Rock and Roll, they are £18.50 in advance, £20 on the day, under-16s £10. For details, ring 0870 9063709.
