JEFFREY Holmes wrote an interesting and thought-provoking letter about religion (You Say, July 4).
His letter seems to dismiss religion because of all the suffering and unrest that "religion" has and is causing in some countries.
In contrast, one has to admire all those religious missionaries and aid-workers, who are prepared to risk their lives to go and help and support victims in war-torn and famine-ravaged countries.
The belief in some sort of an afterlife helps to keep me on the side of sanity.
