A GOOD samaritan who raced to the aid of a sick schoolgirl on her 13th birthday is being sought by her grateful family.
Stefanie Whitefoot collapsed and struck her head while walking to school with a friend.
The 13-year-old was shaking on the ground near the shops in Martley Road, Worcester, when her saviour sprung into action.
The "young man" raced to her and put her in the recovery position. He also arranged for Stefanie's friend, Stacey Peplow, to borrow a mobile phone and alert her stepfather, Wayne Daniels.
When he arrived on the scene, he barely had chance to thank the good samaritan.
"After putting Stefanie into the car, I turned round again to thank him properly, but he'd got on the bus," said Mr Daniels, of Drake Avenue, Dines Green.
"It frightened the life out of me and I'm really grateful he was there because I wouldn't have known what to have done."
Chantry High School pupil Stefanie was anxious to pass on her thanks.
"I cannot remember anything," she said. "It's scary and a bit queasy because 13's an unlucky number and I was 13 on the day.
"I want to say a big thank-you to the man for helping me, and also a big thank you to my friend Stacey as well."
Stefanie's helper was aged around 20 to 25 with short, mousy hair. He had earphones round his neck and was wearing a fawn jacket with a rucksack.
Her mother Rachel, who has four other children, said her daughter had seen the family's doctor to find out the cause of the fit and to check she had not suffered concussion. Stefanie had no history of fits.
"The family wants to say a big thank-you to the man," she added.
"If he doesn't want publicity, we respect that. But we'd like to speak to him to tell him just how grateful we are."
